Video games are my main passion and I have been an avid gamer ever since I played Super Mario Bros. on the NES as a child. I particularly love the greatest video games company in the world, the Japanese video games giant Nintendo! Though sadly I must add that I'm not particularly fond of their most recent gimmicky consoles. I thought the Wii's motion controls were rather clunky and annoying (though I did totally agree with the console's philosophy of simplicity and accessibility) and I haven't really seen anything very exciting from the Wii U's two screen setup. A couple of neat ideas to be fair, but it's mostly seemed contrived at worst, tenuous at best and often just makes things needlessly convoluted (which completely goes against their own philosophy). It seems to be a solution looking for a problem. But anyway, I'm still a huge Nintendo fan and I have built up quite a collection of Nintendo stuff over the years.
A few notes about my collection: Firstly, unfortunately my older brother and I sold our NES and Game Boy games at the time and while I've since bought them back on Nintendo's Virtual Console service, I no longer have them in physical form. Secondly, I haven't shown all of my games, just a selection from each console. I usually get about 32 games for a home console and about 25 games for a handheld console. Thirdly, I haven't shown any of my peripherals, I guess because I didn't consider them to be that exciting, but I suppose some of them are quite iconic, so maybe I'll include them in the next update. Fourthy, I'm from the UK, so there are a couple of things from Japan and the USA that I'm missing (like for example the awesome NES and Super Nintendo redesigns that we didn't get over here, but are on my radar). Fifthly, I buy console redesigns, but not if they aren't aesthetically different enough from the original design. Last updated: November 2014.
