My Nintendo Collection by HaywiredHamish My Nintendo Collection by HaywiredHamish
Video games are my main passion and I have been an avid gamer ever since I played Super Mario Bros. on the NES as a child. I particularly love the greatest video games company in the world, the Japanese video games giant Nintendo! Though sadly I must add that I'm not particularly fond of their most recent, gimmicky consoles. I thought the Wii's motion controls were mostly clunky and annoying (though I did totally agree with the console's philosophy of simplicity and accessibility) and the Wii U's two screen idea seems largely pointless. A couple of neat ideas to be fair, but its usage has mostly seemed contrived at worst, tenuous at best and often just makes things needlessly convoluted (which completely goes against their own philosophy). It seems to be a solution desperately looking for a problem. But anyway, I'm still a huge Nintendo fan and I have built up quite a collection of Nintendo stuff over the years.

A few notes about my collection: Firstly, unfortunately my brother and I sold our NES and Game Boy games at the time (he's older, so I'll blame him!) However, a little while ago I decided that I was going to buy them back. I didn't think I had the stomach for it, but then thought that that ain't no collector talk! So the next update should include them. Secondly, I haven't shown all of my games, just a selection from each console. I usually get about 32 games for a home console and about 25 games for a handheld console. Thirdly, I'm from the UK, so there are a couple of things from Japan and the USA that I'm missing (like for example the awesome NES and Super Nintendo redesigns that we didn't get over here, but are on my radar). Fourthly, I buy console redesigns, but not if they aren't aesthetically different enough from the original design. Last updated: November 2014.

Wow that is awesome, may I ask what is your opinon on the up coming 3DS besides the 3d part? (people either hate or love 3D)

I'm super-excited about the 3DS, I can't wait to see it and get my hands on it. I don't actually have much of an opinion on 3D. As I'm not really a movie-goer, I haven't experienced any of the current 3D craze. But I guess that makes it all the more intriguing for me. Oddly enough though, the thing I'm most excited about is the simple fact that it will have Street Fighter IV, a game I've been pining for, but isn't currently available on Nintendo consoles.

While I must admit that I do love amazing graphics, I agree that they shouldn't be the primary focus. Game development seems to be getting scarily expensive because of them.

I was wondering when someone would notice that there's no Virtual Boy (it's not because of denial, honest!) I just never got one because I'm from the UK and having flopped so badly in Japan and America, it was never actually released in Europe.

I have a collection similar to yours, but I'm missing a few things (Gamecube, Snes, original DS). I'm from the U.S. and I have a virtual boy I bought at a fleamarket. It's akward to "wear" (a big heavy thing on your face), but surprizingly amuzing to play.

Your stealth skills are impressive, but unfortunately your cloak got caught and set off the alarm. You must re-start the level.

I'd like to, but very few Metroid/Samus figures exist. I don't think there is one of an actual metroid available.

That one's quite old, so is probably pretty rare now. But if you go on eBay and search for: zelda figure, I'm sure there'll be one.
